After too many years of addition to the wonders of computer rendering, I finally came back to sketching. Bought some bleed-proof din A470g/m2 marker pads, a set of new Copics and got my hands on the job: to design the new generation of lightweight canisters for our major client.
Because there were a lot of constraints to the handling and logistics of the new product, there was less than 3mm on each side to work on, compared with the existing traditional steel bottle. It was meant to be so slim and light that we eventually called it our “top model”. Later the people in advertising used it as the concept for the TV commercial.
The 0.6mm steel liner is reinforced with continuous polypropylene and fiberglass filament winding coated in polyester resin.
The housing is a two-parts HDPE injection molding full jacket joined together by rotary friction welding
